I have a whole section in my book on Thinking Like the Founders, and it is one way in which--for all their faults--they are way, way, way ahead of our current opposition leaders. They thought in terms of basic principles and structure in a way our politicians don't.

-the right of the people peaceably to assemble
-to petition the Government for a redress of grievances
-the free exercise of religion
-freedom of speech
