I've been told by people I trust that I'm the right kind of weird. 😁😉🙃

Sometimes I do this. I turn the record over and play it again. I keep saying just one more time but something moves me to turn it over yet again. Neil, you know I'm weird. 😉

Let me know what you think. I've been listening to Discipline for about 3 hours now. 😁

Today I see Robert Fripp's playful posts with his wife Toyah on Twitter (or X) and it makes me smile. I'll always think of him sitting on that stool giving Adrian Belew a quiet nod.

No one had ever heard of it. How could this be? I had to rectify this immediately. The strains of 21st Century Schizoid Man filled the house and everyone was in awe. I think even my nephew was impressed. 😉

A few years ago, I was visiting my sister Jenny in San Antonio. We were hanging out in the living with her husband Jason, my nephew Garrett (her son) and his girlfriend Kaitlin listening to music. I recommended we listen to In The Court Of The Crimson King.

King Crimson has been around in various lineups throughout the years. I listened to their debut album, In The Court of The Crimson King (1969), at a friend's house when I was in high school. It wasn't an album I owned then, but I own it now.

When Levin learned that I was also a bass player, he gave me his stick bass to try out. Can you imagine how excited I was? Not only did I have the opportunity to play his bass (why did he trust me?), but this small act of kindness made me feel like I was an honest-to-goodness musician.

After the show, we decided to hang out at one of the tables. Belew, Levin and Bruford came out and sat with us (I don't know where Fripp was, but he wasn't with us). I don't know why they decided to hang out with us, but I'm so thankful.

And Belew turned back to the audience and broke out in a wide grin. I will never forget that moment. I don't know who else noticed it.

I remember one moment in particular. Adrian Belew had just finished this mind-blowing guitar solo. He turned to look at Fripp, still sitting on that stool. Fripp acknowledged him and gave him a slight nod of approval. 4/

I was right up front, hugging the stage before Mr. Belew. Fripp sat on a stool off to the side. He was almost off stage. Levin was playing a stick bass and I was completely mesmerized as was fellow bassist Burk Sauls. I've seen a lot concerts over the years but this one was stood out.

I traveled to Atlanta, GA to see them in concert. They were playing at The Agora Ballroom, a more intimate venue that sadly no longer exists. I was with good friends, fellow musicians from The Know-It-Alls, from Tallahassee.
