Copied from Equality Florida:
We hold space, grief, and love for every life taken — including Girlalala, a 21-year-old Black transgender woman who was brutally murdered in Broward County just days ago.

If you want to get involved, please check out Equality Florida. Since the State of Florida is the origin of so many hateful bills, I urge you to join us here. Equality Florida has accomplished amazing successes in the midst of so much awfulness.

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance. The first time I heard about it was in 2016 when Jeff was the Trias Writer-in-Residence at Hobart-Wiiliam Smith College and we were living in Geneva, NY.

I can't wait for this book to come out into the world. I wrote an essay titled "Curating Creativity." My co-contributors are amazing anthologists and I thank @dancoxon.bsky.social and Pete Sutton (as well as @lunapress.bsky.social ) for this opportunity.

This is exciting and I imagine it was really tough to select the stories. There are too many good ones! Hopefully this is Vol. 1. 😉📚

Currently reading GIRL WARRIOR by Joy Harjo. This passage especially speaks to me today.

I think that's an excellent idea! 😉

From the interview:

My background in public health and choreography taught me that everything is connected if you look closely enough. For anyone starting out, don’t separate your interests. Let them inform one another. The bridges you build between them will become your signature.
My nephew Pioneer Winter is such an inspiration. The more time I spend with him, the better I am as a person.

Saw some really cool stuff today. It's amazing what you can find just walking around. Paris is a beautiful city and next time I WILL be able to speak French. 😉

The cats of Gozo. Orange cat was spotted at a Neolithic structure. I wanted to get a better photo so I put my purse and cap down. They immediately sat in the cap!

Second cat lured me with their charms while I was eating lunch. Yes, yes...I gave them some fish. OK, I admit it: more than some. 🙃

I promised you chocolate shop photos today and I'm hoping this does not disappoint. Only took photos at one shop: Cedric et la Chocolaterie. There was a line & I hesitated but @jeffvandermeer.bsky.social encouraged me. It was worth it!

Today I am planning to photograph the windows of chocolate stores. So excited! Stay tuned for more. But in the meantime, enjoy this beautiful display of fruit.

This beautiful cheese shop almost had me in tears. The owner was very knowledgeable and explained so much about each cheese when we asked. Yes, yes, too many were purchased, but how could we resist? Honestly, I consider this an art form (just wait until I share chocolate photos).

One of the sights I am enjoying at Utopiales.
