One unexpected potentially positive outcome of this is that I have been running PCSX2 version 1.6 for several years now. I didn’t realize version two was a thing. Maybe that will make up for some of this?

And who the hell thought it was a good idea for the Microsoft controllers to use regular lead-acid batteries instead of being rechargeable? This is just unconscionable in the current atmosphere where their leadership is trying to talk about how environmentally friendly their hardware is.

So I guess now I get to figure out how to play old school Final Fantasy games with an Xbox controller. Which will be fun, when all of the onscreen controls reference buttons that don’t exist.

And I say this, as someone who spent days connecting it, only to have it just stop working after a random windows update. No matter what workaround I tried to find (all of which Microsoft said, were unsigned things, and would probably ruin the Computer) no dice.
