Sometimes it feels like I should only try to grow food inside, where critters can’t eat my plants and it’s harder to forget to water.

If I can just not have to buy herbs for the next few months, I’ll be happy.

Beth is not an isolated case.

Americans all over the US who are being radicalized like Beth is, and they are offered carrots by the right wing such as media attention, social media affirmation, access to power, and other social capital benefits that lead them deeper and deeper into radicalization.

As the person leading many (but not all!) of the actions to counter Beth and let trans folks, especially kids, locally know that the community does NOT agree with her and we will NOT tolerate her hate, people ask me about Beth all the time.

These are the questions I get the most regarding Beth.

Why am I doing this series?

Plenty of Fish deleted my drag performance video off my profile. I appealed the decision. I just saw their response and final decision, refusing to restore the photo.

I wrote them back, saying I found their decision hypocritical and frankly discriminatory. Then I deleted my profile.

My Filipino American grandfather was posthumously awarded the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor today for his service in the US Navy during WWII.

I consider myself a proud inheritor of his legacy in fighting fascism, defending Americans and immigrants to the US from tyrannical, oppressive rule.
