Thrilled to share that our work is now published in Science! ✨

We found a preference for visual objects in the mouse spatial navigation system where they dynamically refine head-direction coding. In short, objects boost our inner compass! 🧭

1/N What are the organizational principles underlying crossmodal cortical connections?
We address this in this new preprint, led by @alexegeaweiss.bsky.social & ‪@bturner-bridger.bsky.social‬ in collab w/ ‪@petrznam.bsky.social‬ @crick.ac.uk

1/ Mapping synaptic connectivity between individual neurons is extremely laborious. We developed BRISC, a new method that makes it possible to map inputs onto 100s of neurons in the same animal in a matter of weeks! Led by Alex Becalick and @antblot.bsky.social. 🧵

Posts from Palestine on xitter are all reporting a level of hunger & desperation they've never reported before - people collapsing on the street, no food anywhere, maybe 1 inadequate meal in 2 days or 5 days. Mass death will likely soon begin. Here is a set of posts to give an idea. 1/

First preprint from our lab! An @jerlich.bsky.social collaboration

We developed novel frameworks to study multi-agent decisions in mice.

Mice flexibly shift their decision preference under social competition, by integrating real-time self and opponent information!

Mice dynamically adapt to opponents in competitive multi-player games
Competing for resources in dynamic social environments is fundamental for survival, and requires continuous monitoring of both 'self' and 'others' to guide effective choices. Yet our understanding of ...

X-ray nanotomography can be your new friend for neuronal imaging. In our new #preprint (tinyurl.com/nanoXneuro) we present advances that push the spatial resolution limit for X-ray holographic nanotomography (XNH). We can now resolve synapses. 🧵

If you take a standard neuron model (e.g., leaky integrate-and-fire) and you expose it to Poisson inputs, you generally get a non-Poisson output spike train. So why are neural spike trains approximately Poisson?
