And more directly, it's a false choice.

Why should Black men voters be put in the position of:

1) Fascism just for us Black men.

Or

2) Fascism for everyone.

When we all know that the correct choice is

3) Fascism for no one, because fascism is bad.

If one party has a stated goal of purging the civil service, then people leaving the civil service, or military brass refusing to serve under Trump, helps that party achieve its ends. It would be bad for MAGA only if they wanted govt agencies to fulfill their actual missions.

Look at other recent newsworthy events, and ask yourself if you see the zugzwang pattern playing out.

Here's another example: I just heard a youtuber saying that air traffic controllers quitting during the shutdown looks bad for MAGA while also saying that DOGE had tried to cut ATC jobs.

Yes, it may be considered necessary to "save democracy", but it seems to me we were compelled to choose between two options which serve the interests of the P25 authoritarians.

I don't question the necessities as much as I question calling such outcomes "winning".

Once you start thinking of AI as a war on humanity, on human thought, on human inquiry, on human labor, on nuance and critical thinking, it slots in pretty seamlessly with the right wing ideological project, oligarchical political projects, big tech's political projects, etc

I talked to librarians, authors who have had their books banned, and groups that support them for this article. The glee with which schools, libraries, governments, and companies are replacing human workers and nuance with AI would not be possible w/o the successful war on schools and libraries

Perhaps I'm dim, but I feel like "if you put everyone out of work, you won't have any customers" is something the "everything will be AI" folks should consider.
