I should quit. Like very much I should quit but the job market, ya know? And husband is about to start a new position.

Now the boss - who has a history of not following through ever - has to figure how to get this chair approved or (more likely) I'm not getting a chair.

Today his secretary - not even him - tells me it wasn't approved through our purchasing department because it's not on a select list of approved office supplies. No chairs are.

None of the rest of the business has this issue, so there aren't just extra chairs. Well, aside from these decorative wooden chairs with CNC sharp metal backs that cut into clothing.

I told my boss I needed a new (appropriate) chair, sent him a link to one for less than $200.
