Last week, Trump declared “Antifa” a domestic terrorist organization.

This is why the far-right in the US & Canada see it as an obstacle that has to be cleared in order to carry out their smash-and-grab of the political establishment. 👇

9/ If you are new to antifascism, our guide 40 Ways to Fight the Far-Right: Tactics for Community Activists in Canada is an excellent starting point. If you’ve identified as an antifascist for a long time, you might find something new or inspiring.

40 Ways to Fight the Far-Right
40 Ways to Fight the Far-Right: Tactics for Community Activists in Canada seeks to help contain far-right organizing by preventing and mitigating the damage it inflicts on our communities. This guide ...

8/ We believe in protecting Canada from far-right movements. We believe in working towards a just and inclusive country that lives up to the promises in the Charter where nobody feels unsafe because of racism and other forms of hate.

If you believe in those things too, you might be an antifascist.

7/ They have to criminalize the people organizing against them and keep them from connecting with communities – because then people would see that resisting the hateful far-right agenda is necessary and possible.
antihate.ca
6/ In the middle are the bystanders. The far-right can’t carry out their violent goals without people going along with it. That’s why the far-right has to lie about antifascists. They are terrified that as they make their goals more obvious, bystanders will become resistors and antifascists.

5/ There is no hierarchical organizing in the antifascist movement, or a group called ‘Antifa.' The antifascist movement is also not aligned with the Democrats in the United States, or the Liberal Party in Canada. It’s the underdog in this fight.
antihate.ca
4/ On the other side we have antifascists, who may come from a variety of different beliefs, but agree on the main point that we can’t let the far-right carry out its racist and misogynistic agenda. The end goal of the antifascists is simple: prevent and defeat fascism.
antihate.ca
3/ One one side we have far-right movements that harbour racism & other forms of hate that are incompatible with a multicultural society. Some want few or no rights for women and 2SLGBTQ+ persons. Some want immigrants rounded up. Taking power for personal gain is one of their main goals.
antihate.ca
2/ Antifascism is an ideology & a large & complex social movement with many separate groups that identify as antifascist with their own beliefs, interpretations, & activities. There is no group called “Antifa,” and it certainly is not a “domestic terrorist organization.”

Did you know far-right extremists are bragging about having guys on the “inside” of the Conservative Party?

Of course, they could be full of it.

But @antihate.ca has the receipts of the claim — and we play them for you on today’s episode of Bubble Pop:

It’s not just the United States. If you’ve followed my reporting, you already know: Canada also has a far-right extremist problem.

Now, they’re using Charlie Kirk’s assassination as a moment to mobilize, recruit and further radicalize their followers:
antihate.ca
The larger white nationalist movement is organizing around a specific strategy: they want to criticize and cajole the Conservative Party of Canada, with the help of their people on the inside (they claim), to get the party to make remigration part of their platform.

The larger Canadian white nationalist movement is angry. One of their leaders posted:

“Everybody be sure to thank [the organizer] for handing Antifa and the commies a massive [win] on a silver platter. If that f***wit had a shred of self-awareness or humility he would delete his social media.”
antihate.ca
Congratulations to the organizers & tons of people who attended. You sent a strong message that we won’t stand for white nationalism and racism.

If you want to know what remigration looks like, just look to the United States where they are deporting people to hellish prisons with no due process, snatching people off the streets, and building concentration camps.
antihate.ca
White nationalists believe that stopping immigration isn’t enough. They want to push conservative parties to adopt racist immigration platforms in the hopes of winning elections and deporting people who aren’t white and European. That’s what remigration means.

“Remigration”: How White Nationalists Are Repackaging Ethnic Cleansing
White nationalists in multiple countries, including Canada, are pushing for mass deportations of non-Europeans to be part of the political platforms of their right-wing parties.

NEW: Last Saturday, a minor far-right organizer held a protest in support of mass deportations and “remigration” at Christie Pits Park in Toronto.

Anti-racists organized their own rally, showed up early, played music and had a great time, and greatly outnumbered the pro-deportation protest. 🥳

🚨 1/ This Saturday there is a rally against hate and white nationalism at Christie Pits Park in Toronto. It’s in response to a “Canada First” protest calling for remigration and mass deportations... 🧵

7/ We are heartened to see the anti-fascist and community-based organizing taking place in Christie Pits this weekend, and we wish attendees a safe, successful action and a joyful gathering. ¡No Pasaran!

6/ The organizer of the “Canada First” protest copied the generic “Canada First” name – it has no connection to the alt-right group run by Tyler Russell (which doesn’t exist anymore) or any of the other “Canada First” groups that have come before.
