We live in a beautiful park that includes this Ginkgo biloba. It is also known as the maidenhair tree because its fan-shaped leaves resemble the delicate leaflets of the maidenhair fern.

No idea why someone decided to prune it like this.

The petting zoo in our park recently welcomed two rescue cats, Thunder and Lightning. For now, they’re settling into Diereneiland ("Animal Island") before they’re free to wander as they please.

My mother was always surrounded by reminder notes. The one I remember best was a note to ask one of her sisters to return a book. My sister and I didn’t care for that aunt—she could be rather nasty and rude.

The note?

"Remember to ask L. to return Twelve Angels From Hell."

That explained a lot!
