Migrant workers are most often failed by the current
system of labour enforcement. The Fair Work Agency must be different.

We have contributed to this briefing to make sure migrant voices are heard.

📢The FWA should enable migrant workers to report abuse without fear of immigration enforcement.

Insightful from @antoniajennings.bsky.social on spending review outcome for London. Some optimism too for the infrastructure announcement, perhaps, as TfL says it will shortly appoint consultants to complete a formal application for DLR extension, and has promised second consultation in late June.

The Spending Review – what does it mean for London?

While the capital remained notably absent for much of the Chancellor’s announcements, there remain reasons to be cautiously optimistic.

There are now 117k properties let short-term in London, including 43k breaching the legal 90 nights a year limit. I welcome the new report by Central London Forward which calls for licensing.

Black Cab licences have fallen by over a third (34.5%) between 2010 and 2024.

If this trend continues at its current rate, there will be no Black Cabs on London’s roads in 20 years.

So, how do we support London’s iconic Black Cab trade to secure its future?

London's Black Cabs are an iconic part of the capital's transport system. But by 2045, without policy action, they could disappear from London's roads. Really proud to write and present this report for @centreforlondon.bsky.social.

Today, London Growth Plan has been released.

To effectively implement this economic plan & kickstart growth, London government needs greater power over its own finances.
