Meant to add this to the second post but so important

I think it’s crucial we help people to see that, as the article says, change doesn’t happen because of grand gestures, but by widespread and committed action every day. It is a commitment to taking care of one another.

To invert an expression - when good people act, evil cannot triumph. 2/2

Everything that is happening under the Trump regime needs to be held fully in the light of day. None of this is accidental - it is a deliberate trampling of the law and the fundamental principles of a free society

Session B at @1972shp.bsky.social Developing Teachers’ Conference is just starting. Otis Blaize unpacking how we approach diversifying and decolonising the curriculum. Great to see the @uclpress.bsky.social Teaching Slavery book being referenced here #SHPDTC26

Had to have a little jump over to hear the fantastic @gemmaehistory.bsky.social talking about working with historical interpretations. Loads of brilliant ideas for approaching historical interpretations meaningfully and accessibly @1972shp.bsky.social

Excited to be diving into our first #SHPDTC26 session. Dale Banham exploring how we ensure history lessons are the ones pupils look forward to through stimulating sources, oracy, stories, self efficacy and proving real audiences for pupil work. #historyteacher

We are always looking to share the amazing work Primary and Secondary #historyteacher colleagues are doing. If you have unit which you think fits with the CPATHS Principles and would like to share it with others, just give us a shout or follow the instructions on the Padlet.

Miller presumably referring to the Doctrine of Discovery here to justify Trump’s insane ambitions on Greenland.

Another reason we need to teach kids about settler colonialism in school!

Headline 3: Some subject bodies seem to have strong links with key players from the previous government. I have noted where there are links with the DfE, Oak National and Ofqual under the last govt. As well as Spielman's Ofsted and the previously favoured MATs. Again correct if I am wrong.

Headline 1: Of all the 24 contracts granted I could identify ZERO people from Black Asian or Global Majority backgrounds (correct me if I am wrong!!). This feels really worrying when a core commitment in the CAR was to ensure we have "a curriculum that reflects the diversity of our society"

This was my shittiest camera ever challenge - a build your own twin-plastic-lens camera, with just a few light leaks 😂😂

My daughter bought me Robin Jarvis’ Deptford Mice trilogy for Christmas. Read them to death when I was her age. They have just been released in a lovely new edition for 2025. Am absolutely loving diving back in but preparing myself emotionally for Book 3!

So delighted to have this arrive today. Such an important book for #historyteacher s wanting to do justice to teaching about Britain’s colonial past!

Katie, Nicholas, @justice2history.bsky.social & @abdulmohamud.bsky.social do an amazing job of bringing research and pedagogy together.

Struggling at the moment to cope with the absolute shit show that is government messaging on immigration and failure to say Britain needs to live up to its international obligations to the most vulnerable.

So instead - here are 4 photos from tranquil places I went this Autumn. #kodakgold200

Had a great time presenting @ucet.bsky.social conference this afternoon. A small but lovely gathering of people who all really gamely drew pictures of each other in the final session of the day 😁. Thank you all!!
