The production cycles are so elongated now that it rarely aligns. Like, CD Projekt weren't looking for new content when Witcher hit Netflix, they were just looking to sell copies of TW3. It'll be the same for Edgerunners S2. Adding legs to old stuff is more important now than having smth new

tbh I don't think a new game was ever on the cards & I think they knew that.. They probably wished they had that 76 content & FO4 update which came slightly after the show arrived at the same time, but there was less of a distance between the show & those than Mario Wonder & his movie...!

I think tbh it's not just about it being CG - it's about a directorial openness, cos they had no idea what they were doing. "Just make whatever". The whole tonal gamut just thrown into a blender, which disappears in 8 & 9 as directorial intent is more carefully leveraged
