AQLM was an intense 9-day dive into advanced microscopy—blending core concepts, cutting-edge methods, and inspiring MBL history. I gained valuable skills and connections to better support LSU researchers and strengthen our imaging community. #AQLM2025 #MBL #LightMicroscopy #LSU #SIF #Microscopy 🔬🦑

And just like that, #AQLM2025 is over. Hopefully we’ll all find ourselves in the same windowless microscope room sometime soon, bead slide in hand.

This year’s esteemed Inoue Lecture was given by French optical physicist Dr. Sophie Brasselet of The Fresnel Institute. Dr. Brasselet spoke of her team’s efforts towards applying 6 degrees of PSF engineering to super resolution polarization microscopy. #AQLM2025

Our last imaging lab was this morning (!) On to analysis and then we build more scopes and celebrate the end 🥲

🔬 Glad to support #AQLM2025 at the #MBL.

On our partners’ workstations:
✅ UNO+ – user-friendly & high value
✅ BL3 – with Full Sample Feedback for real-time control of Temp, Humidity & CO₂ at the sample level.

👉 Already using our latest tech? Tell us what u think!

Ooof, those PSFs are looking *a little* asymmetric...sample prep is key here! (AKA keep Cheeto dust out of your bead sample.)

Dr. Palmer gives an amazing lecture on dyes, fluorescent proteins, and FRET/FLIM. A chemist who makes non-chemists understand the chemistry! #AQLM2025

Lots of fun and great conversation about fluorescent proteins, probes, biosensors and Fret at @aqlm.bsky.social course at MBL. Also great to be in such close proximity to Shimomura GFP!

Live cell lab: understanding the trade offs between acquisition time, SNR, spatial resolution, and cell survival on different microscope systems. You can’t have it all, but ideally you can have enough for meaningful analysis. #AQLM2025

The back focal plane! Today Dr. Chris Bjornsson demonstrated Abbe’s theory of resolution by manipulating the light passing through the back focal plane. Here he is using a lens to focus the back focal plane onto the camera for us to see. #AQLM2025
