Carney's/Liberals budget cutting immigration by half read to me as a more "polite"/"palatable" way of phrasing what Trump is doing here in this. People can often "justify" to themselves gross racist policies as long as it's worded "politely" or "palatable". Trump just says it the racist way out loud

This is why I maintain Bessent is the most dangerous cabinet member. Unlike everyone else there, he KNOWS better (not that I agree with him), AND he knows we know that he knows better, but he chooses to go along with it.
