Thanks to CBA for two nominations for Teffont Archaeology! Delighted to see our efforts to engage people from all backgrounds and demographics in archaeology, and our training and skills work, for everyone from carers, to volunteers, to positive action placements and students, recognised like this.

We are profoundly disappointed to learn that the planning application for Leicester's historic Corah Factory site has been approved.

This decision represents a significant missed opportunity and sanctions the near-total demolition of an important heritage asset.

Leicester's iconic Corah Works is at risk! 🏭

On 1st October, a decision will be made on its future. Current plans would see this historic site almost entirely demolished.

The CBA has objected and urges Leicester City Council to refuse.

We’re pleased to support plans for Torquay’s Old Town Hall. 🏛️

The proposals show real commitment to keeping the main hall in public use while maintaining the character of the building. A great example of how heritage can be cared for and still serve communities.

Had a brilliant day at the CBA-East Midlands fieldwalking conference in Grantham. My head is chokka with information & ideas to take forward into efforts to get our county archaeological society doing fieldwork again. A really inspiring event! #archaeology #fieldwalking
