The only reason I still have 3 kids is that kids bounce. Sometimes the noise they make when they bounce makes your heart stop and your skin crawl, but they still bounce.

Just looking at this, I can hear the theme. Excellent work, as always!

Jealous. My dentist has less kind things to say about my mouth...

I intentionally launched with a collection of pre-written articles and then kept a good cadence for the next while, slowly spacing them out. I expect it'll transition to a space where it's less regular updates and more about when there's something more to say on a topic.

Do not appease me. Do not placate me. If you want to make something great do not colour in the edges of the map. Let me live in those margins. Let me wander them in my imagination.

I complain about this a lot in games because historically they've been particularly guilty of this, but it seems all modern media is going this way for the sake of audience appeasement.

The minute any form of media deigns to explain the most interesting aspects of it's universe, it immediately relieves it's audience of any ability to experience that universe outside of the media. There's no longer a reason to think about it. It's simply solved. A thing that happened.

It is dead.

Had to do a double take because at first glance I thought I'd somehow missed that Christian Bale and Jason Bateman were a Britpop duo now

Excellent! It's been 2 years since I switched to daily driving linux (mint) and it's been great. When I've been forced to use Windows for work I've actively resented it.

Of course he was, after a fashion, but not in the way I saw him in that intro.
