If you've never done the work but you're sure that there are shortcuts that people should be taking, you're just wrong. Full stop.

If you want to use those those shortcuts because you don't like doing the work, you should find something else to do with your time.

Started concepting out the first enemy for my encounter system. Pushed some pixels around and am relatively pleased with the results so far.
Of course animating it will be something else entirely...

People reacting to Larian's CEO talking about AI is, much as I hate to say it, a filter. They don't want people who don't want to do it their way. He knows what he was saying in the interview. Mining your outrge was entirely the point.

Obviously no, the idea is ghoulish. Part of being alive is creating new connections and we have huge amounts of data that mental stagnation leads to decline.
Sorry Grandma, you were great, but you're gone.

I am so tired of "Announcement of and announcement" posts. It makes me not want to even hear about your announcement when it happens.

Been making solid progress on my side project these last 2 weeks, which is excellent, but it'll be a bit longer before the next article for No Right Answers gets written.

So while I've been enjoying the spectacle of the Fallout TV show as I watch it with my son, I am eternally disappointed that, at every turn, it is determined to suck the weird mystery out of the entire experience.

This is indeed very silly. Highly recommended!
I made a tiny game for PicoSteveMo with @dicey.bsky.social !

➡️ It's called King Stephen
➡️ You play as King Stephen (King of England 1135-1154)
➡️ It's a Reigns-like decision-making game
➡️ I did the writing + portraits
➡️ Made for a Stephen King game jam
➡️ It's very silly

I've actually told bits and pieces of the story so many times, I wrote an article about it!

In case anyone hasn't caught on yet, CEOs saying words means nothing.

They don't understand or care about the basic principles of what they're talking about. They're there to pump stock prices for investors.

Reality need not apply.

Started rewatching DS9 and have hit the original scene this was made from, so I had to rewatch it.

Absolutely in tears laughing again.

As long as an AI/LLM model is trained on stolen data, replicates the learning of a model trained on stolen data, significantly contributes to resource depletion/climate change or is used to displace/replace human workers, there is no ethical use.

This morning's outages are yet another example of why having a single point of failure is real bad. It's always been hell to get the budget to support diverse network paths with fail-over and I feel for all the IT folks who are up to their necks in it this morning...

If AI could make games, or make games get made faster, it would have happened already. There's no way the thing holding it back is humans not asking for things to be done.

The truth is that it's flat out not capable. AI is a grift for CEOs to syphon cash from people they've lied to for magic beans.

Imagine how many other games, which would have already shipped, this money could have funded.
I've been reminded that we're way ahead of schedule - Star Citizen funding rapidly approaching the $900 Million mark. Its very possible we even hit that this year given the acceleration we've seen. What date do you want to predict we hit that milestone? Take your guesses here!
