If this is even remotely accurate, Elon Musk and Donald Trump have killed more people in several months than the Iraq war killed in a decade

Here. I've written about Aeschylus' Oresteia, the importance of courts, and the current calls on the right for Trump to ignore the courts and act outside of the law.

If you're a writer, research & write stories about anti-fascist resistance. If you're a game designer, make games about resistance. If you're a teacher, teach about the history of resistance.

Every culture worker alive right now has a pressing responsibility to do this. Our lives depend on it

Sending a Russian dissent back to Russia to be tortured and/or killed perfectly encapsulates this loathsome administration’s lack of American values.
Kseniia Petrova, a Russian scientist at Harvard Medical School, was detained at Logan Airport after returning from France and sent to an ICE detention in Louisiana, The Insider reports.

A big critic of Putin and the war in Ukraine, she may now be deported to Russia.

the plan isn't to cancel elections, it's intimidate opposition with draconian crackdowns on protests, investigations into dissidents, and stripping power and authority from the entire opposition's political ecosystem. elections that are neither free nor fair but are, technically, still elections

if you find yourself reluctant to support the guy at Columbia because you find some of the politics he espoused distasteful or even abhorrent, you should know that this is exactly the reaction that they hoped for in choosing him as a target for unlawful detention based on political speech.

But our president believes that "the state" is inseparable from his person. So none of that counted. Trump demands gratitude *personally*, to *him*.

And any gratitude expressed to America when Trump was not its supreme leader isn't just worthless—he sees it as a betrayal.
