Whenever I think about the #NMAAHC (the #Blacksonian) lately, I feel overcome by anxiety. It’s so much more than a building or a museum. It’s an overdue, tangible recognition of our journey (good, bad, and at times quite ugly). Knowing that it’s under threat is such an emotional thing for me.

If Kanye was a woman he would have been under a conservatorship a long time ago. It’s wild that he’s allowed to go on these completely unhinged rants with complete disregard for others. He’s had endless resources and plenty of time to do better. Other people should be so lucky smh

If you’re like 35 or older, please be aware that it is not the circus we went to as kids. No animals, clowns, or ringmaster. Just lots of performance, sometimes with 2 or 3 happening at the same time. It’s cute for what it is, but definitely different. And don’t come at me, I’m happy the 🐘 are free🙂

The Ringling Bros. Circus performers encompass talent from 18 countries, something that is celebrated throughout the event. An inclusion oriented song was one of the highlights of the show.

Went to the circus last weekend with the fam. Couldn’t help but wonder if it will survive given how important and celebrated diversity is in the performance world. It must be terrifying to be working, bringing joy to others, and wonder if you’ll be illegally detained and shipped away.

Well…..I’m here!
