A few words about the proposed Gladstone/Gilmour bike lane, why I refuse to pit cyclists and transit riders against each other, and how I am working to improve the plan that is currently out for public consultation.

Thank you to Janette Sadik-Khan and Bloomberg Cities for helping us kickstart this incredible reclamation of public space. I can’t wait to see this expanded all over the city. Streets are for people!

Our pop-up spaces on MacLaren, Frank and Florence hosted more than 160 events and drew 2,500 people to downtown Ottawa. Dance lessons, yoga classes, craft nights, street art tours, and chess tournaments — the creativity was endless.

It was a pleasure today to celebrate the success of our Street Seats program in Centretown and commit to expanding more places for people in Chinatown next summer.

Street Seats has been an incredible success this summer bringing people together, supporting local businesses, and showing the potential of vibrant public spaces in our city. I’m excited to see the program expand in 2026 as we continue to revitalize and reimagine downtown Ottawa.

Wonderful segment on CBC radio this morning, speaking to people staying at the city’s transitional housing in a converted office building on Queen.

CCI is doing an incredible job supporting newcomers, helping them to find housing and jobs. The facility is beautiful.

Demand for food banks is higher than ever, with far too many people in our community suffering from food insecurity. I dream of a day where everyone has what they need, and no one goes hungry, but in the meantime, I am so thankful for community food banks and the volunteers who keep them going.

Great to see so many representatives from local churches, as well as Imam Dr. Muhammad Suliman from the Centretown Mosque.

Such a cool event at Dundonald Park today, led by the Centretown Community Association — a silent disco park cleanup! Wearing headphones, grooving to DJ Del Pilar and cleaning up our beloved park — what could be better?!? Also great to see Ecology Ottawa there, giving out free trees.

So nice to see a politician talking about after school programs and youth mentorship as crime prevention. Imagine if we invested in every single kid early in their lives, instead of constantly expanding policing to punish people who have hit rock bottom?!?

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 3: Earl Manigault

When he stepped onto the court, the world watched. No one dunked harder or jumped higher. But the GOAT never made it pro.

There are countless NYC stories like his. Brilliant talents lost to drugs or crime. It doesn’t have to be this way.

There's been some talk about privatizing rural buses in Ottawa. But:
- Fares would be higher
- Private operators are not accountable to the public
- Revenue goes to shareholders instead of back into public service
- Accessibility is also a big unknown

This councillor says OC Transpo is failing his rural ward. Could private buses be the answer? | CBC News
Rural residents of Ottawa aren't adequately served by OC Transpo, and privatized transit may be the way to bridge the gap, according to Rideau-Jock Coun. David Brown.
