Oskar Morgenstern about Kurt Gödel 😬🫠

"that he could show how in a perfectly legal manner it would be possible for someone to become a dictator and set up a fascist regime. [...] I told him that it was most unlikely that such events would ever occur..."

Can we make a note that 2025 was the year I, at almost 40, lost my belief that there's something good in everyone.

Literally everyone rich and/or powerful is an irredeemable, evil sack of shit, and they were only waiting for a world where they could afford to stop pretending.

The most precious commodity you have is your attention. You don’t have to waste it on poor-faith debates or arguments with strangers if you don’t think they’ll be productive. You can prioritize the things that matter to you and make your life richer.

Weird, how 80% of people in Switzerland expect to inherit 50+ million.

...or are a percentage of them simply that much into being bullied by the super rich 🫠

Btw this is the pen I'm using to vote yes on taxes for the rich.

Well, it took close to two years, but I've read the entire Realm of the Elderlings saga out loud for my favourite person. Yes. All 10'000 or so pages.
And I think I stopped reading and started narrating about 1400 pages in, so there's progress I guess.

I still have red left to spin, but ngl I'm really excited for this poncho 🧶🥰

Fine, I guess I'll go to the pool and I'll see if it's busy when I get there like some kind of 20th century peasant 🫡

What stage of adulthood is it when you get home from work at midnight, haven't had time to sit down or eat in a 12 hour shift, and then make yourself a salad?

Do I get, like, a sticker in my assignment book or something now?

CN crochet content - I'm really rather pleased with this #leagueoflegends #teemo hat I've made for #Riftbound release!

#Klimakrise

Product allocation is done.
In honor of spooky month, share a 4 word horror story that only someone in your profession would understand

I'll go first: Six page commercial lease.

I'm going to knit a poncho in rainbow colours for my favourite person!
I've got two more tops to spin, but I'm so eager to start knitting with this I had to begin plying the purples and blues 😅🧶

I had the most amazing history teacher in grades 10 to 12, whose biggest priority was to educate us on fascism.
They made sure to drive home the role of the passive majority.

I'm still completely unable to process the absolute madness of the masses who refuse to acknowledge that this is not normal.

OBAMA: It's fair to say that 80% of the world's problems involve old men hanging on who are afraid of death and insignificance, and they won't let go. They build pyramids, and they put their names on everything. They get very anxious about it.

Ah yes, I too would look at a near mint Chains of Mephistopheles and go "Time to take a fine liner to that!"

(It was a bargain, and I'm pretty confident I can restore it)

There's an Asian street food festival in town, and even though they're supposed to serve the food in re-usable dishes with a deposit, every single vendor I talked to was happy to put my food in a tupperware for me to take home to my partner who can't currently go out.
That was really nice today.

I'm currently (re-)reading the #Animorphs series, and isn't it weird that the part that requires the most suspension of disbelief for me is how a dark corner and no other people in sight is enough to grant them privacy 🫣

...oh, and go read the books, they're great.
