I think the most important thing to *ALWAYS* keep in mind when writing is that character development is so pivotal to telling any story, particularly so you can brainwash them later and show the contrast between how far they'd come and how far they've fallen. Also sex scenes with mostly dialogue.

The movie had tons of credit and amongst a lot of people was considered a bonafide classic. It's just what came late tainted the glory. Sometimes it's better to go out in a flash, rather than fade away.
