This "pause" creates real harm. It means life or death for victims of domestic violence and others. People will die as a result of this move.

It means pausing support for housing, rehabilitative programs that reduce recidivism and make our communities safer. We will be sicker, poorer, hungrier, and meaner. Crime will go up, and they will point the finger at everyone but themselves.
