surprising that gemini 3 gave me example code for how to interface with the gemini api using the deprecated `@google/generative-ai` package... of all the models, i would at least expect gemini to provide an up to date example

It was way too easy to add nice view transitions to my astro blog. And it feels really slick and minimal. arnorhs.dev/archive/

I wrote about the fact that all these coding agents are moving to the terminal.

Why are coding agents all going to the terminal? - arnorhs.dev
I've noticed that these cli tools are really starting to become popular and judging from the effort put into their respective offerings by the model vendors, it seems to be what they are all betting o...

I'm really happy how google gemini will always complement me on my code changes. Sometimes it gives me solid advice.

At other times it completely hallucinates a code change that I didn't make and points it out.

I'll take that as a compliment - the only wrong code it finds is code I didn't write.

what's really annoying about gpt 5 is not the quality of responses.. they are really high quality..

what's annoying is its combination of thinking for a while + giving you a really long answer to very short questions.. over and over.. it really needs a tl;dr mode

I've got to say .. Gemini's deep research tool is just phenomenal.. every single time i use it, i'm surprised by just how good it is

gemini very often replies to my questions with the first sentence being: "That's a very insightful question, and you've hit on the key challenge of ..."

Honestly, I'm not so sure my questions are that insightful.. so it's weird that I get that reply so often

Chat gpt 5 is crazy.. You can both have it spin up an isolated sandbox to run code and do research, so it really feels like it can validate everything.

But then it spits out a completely incoherent zip file - with multiple overlapping errors and hallucinations..

Me using gemini cli:

Me: <prompt>
G: Okay, I can help you with that... <blabla>
Me: You are forgetting x, y, z
G: You are absolutely correct [..] <blabla suggestion>
Me: Great, but hm, I dont think that's correct. Can yo look at the latest docs...

Apple really doesn't know how to sell mac os upgrades...

"Discover new features to unlock your productivity and creativity on Mac"

That doesn't quite do it for me..

My Christmas lights are now wifi connected after an arduous setup process. What are we doing as a species?

We've almost gotten to the point of social media platforms being filled with AI generated videos being commented on using AI generated comments.

At some point it will all just be AI generated stuff all the way for your typical viral stuff.

Oh, that's interesting.. I'll have to give this a try (not that i ever blog anymore)
By popular request, here's how to add Bluesky replies as your blog's comment section!

This requires some technical know-how for now, but I'm hoping that we see some no-code solutions for this pop up soon, like Ghost or Wordpress plugins.

I see so many posts on reddit (r/reactjs) from new #react developers going through the interviewing process and they get the weirdest "gotcha" questions in their interviews..

The last few years the build-tools space for JS (TS) has gotten so much better - there's just so much interesting stuff going on.

For years it was all basically a huge pile of slow, so this new generation of tools just makes it so much nicer to work on things

There's a couple of minor issues ("external", mostly) preventing me from switching a bunch of vite projects to using @rolldown.rs - but from what I can tell it will be a nice QOL improvement once those are ironed out.
