The public doesn't understand the finances of public universities. They don't know that unplugging 20-25% of the budget (federal $) + slashing tuition $ (👇) means less $ & "things" for their kids, & they don't know this because our leaders are absent from the public square:

A lot of people think that every international student admitted means one fewer spot for domestic students, when the opposite is more likely true - the tuition revenue international students bring allows public universities to provide substantial discounts to domestic students, improving access.

The 1st year students I am teaching right now include a few who are already experiencing their geospatial revelation, and it's a wonderful bright spot.

There's a subfleet ased out of GUM that fly to routes like Okinawa, Ulanbataar, etc ex-NRT in addition to running their south Pacific island hopper route.

Here is a stock image that appears to be the basemap for this: www.vecteezy.com/vector-art/5...

Examples indexed in stock collections appear to go back to 2017 according to Tineye results.

Not sure if it's nearby, but Proud Mary is amazing in Melbourne. One of my favorite breakfast experiences on the planet.

The chaos is really part of the charm of the ICA experience. :) It's usually not boring, and it's always wonderful to meet a broader int'l audience of cartofolks.

The stickers are so awesome, and you're so very welcome to always join our PSU celebrations at the UC. ☺️

Right... I suspect that's what they intended. GPT and other LLM/LMMs can make rudimentary maps (at best, currently) but the idea that generative AI has replaced maps is wishcasting.
arobinson.bsky.social
Not even a little? Who has examples of AI replacing maps that they would be able to share? Does AI in this case just mean "computationally-derived"?
