Excited for this paper to be out! Mothers’ work schedules matter for child and family wellbeing, but we know little about how these have changed over time. We find that while, on average, rates of mothers' nonstandard schedules have been stable over time, trends vary substantially across subgroups.

Seven polling sites in Milwaukee ran out of ballots due to "historic turnout" according to city election director. More ballots are being printed and on way. Very important to remind voters that if they're in line when polls close at 8 CT they get to vote. Do not leave. Please spread the word

As federal research grants continue to be frozen, and NIH staff is being gutted, please note this study was funded by federal research grants, including from NIH. If they continue with staff cuts, and continue to freeze new awards, this is just one example of what we lose.

THIS IS HUGE! A cancer vaccine developed by Yale University and DFCI shows MAJOR promise. Results of an early-phase trial reveal ALL patients with ADVANCED stage kidney cancer had successful anti-cancer immune responses AND have remained CANCER-FREE approximately THREE years after treatment. 🧪🧵⬇️

Does anyone have any info on when the SIPP online codebook will be back up? Or happen to have a downloadable version of the codebook? This is for the 2014 and later panels, which only had the online interactive codebook.

Worried about losing access to US federal data that may go off-line, or already is? You’re not alone—but duplication isn’t the answer.

Many ongoing efforts have already archived key datasets and many more are ongoing. Check out these existing resources and, if you can, support their work. 🧵

Associate Prof @arpilarz.bsky.social quoted:

“If you’re eligible for a subsidy and there’s just no child care in your community, or no providers that accept subsidies, that’s going to make it a lot harder for you to actually participate in (Wisconsin) Shares."
Wisconsin child care costs soar, but thousands miss out on state aid
Child care costs more for some families than housing. Despite the strain, 39% fewer children receive state aid than 13 years ago.

I'm just a simple country public administration professor so maybe smarter people than me can explain if these options can't work and if others are better, but there is no strategy that involves waiting for something bigger than right now.
