I honestly believe our most powerful position in a toxic time that feeds on cynicism, apathy,& despair is to genuinely care and act for a better world.

Cynicism is our enemy. We should check it, incl. on the left. It’s not intellectually superior. It’s the virus they’re trying to infect us with. NO

Idgaf I’m still fighting for guaranteed healthcare.

Aspiration is the answer. Not just “we’re not the bad guys.”

We need something more meaningful than that. I want a future worth fighting for. They have no vision. We do. Lean into our strengths and knock them out. 👊🏽

seeing just how much evangelical christianity is soaked into every pore of all this horseshit....... all the initatives to drive women and minorities from public life in particular..... their Obsession with hierarchy and obedience and submission -- it's everywhere, like the foulest smell

It’s important to know that a lot of productive activity is happening in person and offline, too.

Not all of it can be broadcast online, but we’ve had hundreds of people showing up to our trainings, mobilizations, and more.

Keep going. Tyranny is eroded by a sea of small acts. Everything matters.

I’m sad to learn that my law school classmate, Kiah Duggins, died in the DC plane crash last night.

Kiah was an exceptionally talented civil rights lawyer and aspiring legal scholar.

I hope you’ll read about her work and the causes she cared about, some of which I’ll 🧵 below.

What an immense loss

I live in New York City in the year 2025.

The president is a convicted felon.
The mayor of NYC is an indicted felon.
The secretary of defense is a Fox News host.
The secretary of transportation is a Fox News host.

The very worst people in America are in charge of America.

Please dont stop talking about Palestine after you move here. Something that concerns me about the move to bluesky is that the Palestinian accounts cant follow us... its already having a serious impact on their fundraisers :(

here are fundraisers to support, starting with my sponsor family:

Forgive me for being blunt.

But “we’ll fix this in the next election” is NOT A GREAT RESPONSE TO WHERE WE ARE.

Normal rules are NOT in play.

Act now.
Organize now.
Speak up now.
Plan now.
Push back—and urge power- holders to do the same.

Now.

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism.

We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive
