Didn't they ultimately not do that? From my understanding, they chose to draft it because of what Texas was doing but didn't actually put in a trigger. So if Texas' redistricting had failed in court, CA's would still have gone through (unless it was also stopped in court).

It really seems like a lot of "in the files" comes down to a whole lot of people weirdly comfortable associating with a known pedophile, but didn't do anything illegal. Just highly embarrassing to get out

Maxwell was convicted December of 2021. And if we're counting appeals, she's been appealing up through all of last year too. So either her case stopped being the reason at the end of Biden's first year in office or we actually shouldn't have been able to get the files we do have
