Just re-upping this again because the Temu Trumps in the LNP insist on bringing every culture war here: the Morrison govt spent $20.8bn on consultants in its final year - the equivalent of 54,000 FT public servants. The private sector benefits with govt cuts. No one else.

Thanks for your amazing work!
Happy all the things, lovelies. Squeeze those you love (including the four legged ones) tight. It’s a hard time of year for lots of people, for lots of reasons and this year is even harder - but you’re not alone. Sending love. Take care of you and those around you. Happy Kucios 🩷

Keep doing your good work, David. If they complain, you're doing something right. You're speaking with a social conscience, they are not awake yet. Your work may help them eventually, we hope. There's always hope!
A rabid Zionist is calling me sick and deranged for journaling truth.

My entire year has been getting yelled at by these guys because I dont like kids being bombed.

Sure, the ratio is satisfying, but it means nothing if our PM rolls over for their fascistic demands on our democracy, anyway.

I think you're correct, sadly. In my 85 years, I've never seen anything like it. But I do know change comes from the bottom up. Are there enough of us at the bottom to create the change. Paulo Freire spirit, come to reassure us.
We're becoming an authoritarian right-wing one-party state and we didn't even need a coup this time out. Just a bunch of shitty newspapers and massive sellouts across politics/civil society

Sam Mostyn, our Gov Gen, epitomised everything Australia needed at this moment.
Dignified, respectful, eloquent and non-political.

Me too!
Albo just got booed at the memorial for the victims of the Bondi Beach shooting.

I immediately felt sick.

I’m also angry that this tragedy has been so politicised.

Albo is not to blame. The Labor government is not to blame.

Hateful extremists ARE to blame.

We need unity. Not more hate.

It is demeaning to all Jews to weaponise antisemitism by comparing Islamic State, trained in the Philippines, to anti genocide protests. IS hate all of us, not just Jews. To sow division and hatred is what they do - and it is now what Frydenberg has done, divided us when we should be unified. Shame.

As a survivor of the Tulsa Race Massacre, Viola Ford Fletcher bravely shared her story so that we’d never forget this painful part of our history. Michelle and I are grateful for her lifelong work to advance civil rights, and send our love to her family.

Democracy normally works better with a competent opposition. However, the Coalition has completely abandoned its values of small government, individual responsibility, and reward for effort in favour of racism, cultural wars and climate denial.

Our democracy is better without them.

I think the blue does something.
Might just get off the internet for a while. I’m back on the dexamethasone for obvious reasons and everything is giving me the shits. Apologies for that.

I love this.
Painted tonight, but it’s nowhere near done, so instead here’s a piece I did in 2024 called Frosty Twilight (16”x20” mixed media). I went through a whole birches phase and this was part of that series.

Anyhoooo….who’s ready for Monday?! I’m not! Lol #art #painting #mixedmedia #sundayscaries

Nothing!
Feeling a bit nostalgic.

I give some points to Howard for gun control, and to Fraser on refugees.

But I think Sonia McMahon’s dress at the White House is the stand out memory.

What will you miss most about the Liberal Party?

Same in AUS. Aboriginal people are 3.8% of the population, yet 32-38% in prisons.
There was a rise in Lynchings in the 80's in the South!

I never realized til college....never lived South, but even a few years ago when went to New Orleans, the accepted discrimation still shocked me
