I went into the kitchen to pick up a pair of scissors. Left the kitchen having made cauliflower cheese for tonight's dinner, and it was only when I sat down I realised I didn't have the scissors!

My radishes are growing!

There's also potatoes, peas, tomatoes, cucumbers and strawberries in the garden.

This might not be the most conventional way to write a novel, but the daily word prompt from #WIPsnips is certainly enabling me to put pen to paper.

The novel is progressing. It's made up of lots of little scenes, and I'm going to need to stitches them together soon. Patchwork writing!

Murderbot - the books were great, and the television program is rather wonderful. However, the thing they have excelled at is taking each episode up to a cliff hanger. It's so hard to stop, and not just binge the whole thing.

A first experience of chia seed pudding - um yeah, frogspawn.

The idea was to try to include more fibre in my diet. Currently, I don't know if this is the way to do it.

The novel is progressing. One of the most interesting parts of writing is that when you write every day it becomes easier to write every day. Then it becomes easier to write more each day.

Initially, I was happy with 150 words. Now, I think I'm shirking if it's less than six pages.

Today's writing prompt is "honey". The location of my book is Honey Hill Farm. There must be some way I can incorporate "honey" into my writing. ;o)

Is it sill bonnag when there's only two ingredients the same? The original recipe calls for flour, cream of tartar, baking soda. This was replaced by SR gluten-free flour. The buttermilk became oatmilk and 50% more of it. The salt remains salt, and butter is still butter.

Today's writing included the line "Well today was a total waste of make up, wasn't it?"

And,

"What does your Mam call you?"
"Gormless Numpty."
"Okay. What does it say on your birth certificate?"

Today's writing included:

a vet wet drag queen, Dan de Leon👠

a vegan chocolate cake used as an economic stimulus 🎂

and a lesbian police sergeant 👮‍♀️

It's almost time for "The Corn Bride". I was trying to work out when I should start my re-listen to the previous books in the series to enable a smooth transition into the latest one.

Whilst engaged in calculations, I've just realised the book/audiobook is out on the 13th of March, not the 15th. 😁
THE WEDDING OF THE YEAR!* The Corn Bride is coming on 13th March. Get your glad rags on for what promises to be a riotous knees-up of epic proportions! Available wherever books are sold... witchesofwoodville.com#thecornbride

I am so not looking forward to writing tonight.

Bob is going to die. I'm going to kill him. 😥

I don't want to do it. I don't want to think of the sorrow and grief attached to his death. But, he needs to die.

Do other writers have pain when they kill people?

Hey there lovely one.

Just spotted an advert, "Anti-Adhd method for lazy but ambitious people".

How utterly, utterly insulting!

People with ADHD are most definitely not lazy! (My blood is not yet boiling, but it's at a rolling simmer.

Time to go and do something, and stop giving this obnoxious ableism head room.

It's really rather exciting, in a nerdy way.

I'd been writing long hand, and a few days later, transfering the text to my laptop. Very mild editing was happening as I typed. It was okay, but difficult to keep track.

Now, it's all going into a private blog. I can insert links, pictures, etc. 😁

Hot buttered toast appeared at Sophie's elbow, and a soft kiss landed on the top of her head. "This is exactly what I need: tea, toast, puppy cuddles and my wonderful Uncle Finn."

She felt happy, yet her eyes grew moist, and a single tear parted company from the as yet unshed ones.

‘Meet Sir Harold the Skeleton. He’s put to work throughout the year – quite dashing in a Santa suit, if a little ridiculous. The spooky season though, this is his time to shine. He really comes into his own and the kids love him.’

She took a few careful steps down the sodden farm lane. The deep cloud cover parted and the full moon shone down. Raising a baleful gaze heavenwards, she exclaimed, "Sure, now you decide to show yourself, not two minutes ago when it would have save me from a mud bath!"

In today's writing, my moon and weather have lined up almost exactly with my story plans! I do like it when there's a wide band of truth to my flights of fantasy.

A triple murder - that's how to start a Christmas novel!

This is part of my daughter's Christmas present. There's no way she will be capable of receiving the book in October, and not reading it until Christmas. She might well humour me, and re-read it at Christmas.
Very excited to announce that the fifth Stranger Times book is now up for preorder. It's the Christmas book the world needs - by which I mean it starts with a triple murder and gets even more festive from there. Ho Ho homicide! thestrangertimes.co.uk/ring-the-bells/

Research is so much easier when you can chat with people who live in an area and can give the insider perspective.

I've been clued in on 'The Manchester Pusher'. The Police say it's an urban myth. The Pusher is a serial killer who pushes people into the canal.

The Offspring saw I was looking at 'Spermcheck Male Fertility Test' and asked, "Mam, why are you looking at sperm tests?!"

"Research, baby, research." was the reply. They fired right back at me, "Baby research, baby."

There will be a sperm test done in the book.

I *think* I've just written the start of first chapter of the novel. It dives straight into the action and with big emotions.

It feels like a logical place to begin, even though it's not the beginning of the story. It also sets up what is going to happen in the rest of the chapter.
