No offense taken, just self-righteous blamelessness :-)

I'm currently at 3 weeks and 10 emails trying to get a major institution to schedule an interview on what should be an entirely uncontroversial story. And don't get me started on unlabelled press photos.

Way to blame the reporter! And no. I'm talking answer your email, send the press images, schedule the interview and don't put up barriers to getting the story out.

Yes, exactly. A number of CSU faculty throughout the 23 campus system have been arrested, dismissed, and/or silenced. It's happening everywhere. Clinging to "blue state" isn't going to save anybody.

As former humanities dean, I learned "ROI"/"data" matter if they serve the larger narrative, which is set by not just admin and trustees, but by the public. The narrative is that (a) humanities is irrelevant and (b) costs are too high. So, sacrifice hum to serve costs, even if data show otherwise.

Maybe instead of pouring billions of dollars into their plagiarism machine, they should give that money to the many, many brilliant scholars and creatives who have a surplus of ideas but lack the time and resources to execute them.

You’re a stronger viewer than me. I watched it alone while getting divorced. Can’t do it again even though I agree it’s fantastic
