Running Wrap Up, 2024

Not as good as 2023; ran less miles, slower, with less elevation. But, as a result, I had few injuries (the plan).

Total Miles: 2,180
Miles Per Week: 42
Speed: 10:40 a mile

Always thankful I can still run, since at 58, any injury or worse could put an end to it for good.πŸ™
Public servants have no right to anonymity, and the public has every right to know who they are because they are accountable to the public. Even if some are threatened, that's an unfortunate part of being a public servant. Judges get threats. So do politicians. They don't wear masks.

Even if that happened, that would be the price to pay for being a public servant in that capacity. Judges get harassed all the time. So do politicians. They don't wear masks.

Public servants are publicly accountable. No masks for public servants.

"If Trump grants her clemency, she is prepared to testify that Trump is innocent".

Sounds on the up and up to me.

When the senator from *Mississippi* says the video is racist and must be removed, it's like EF Hutton speaking - it's time to listen.

Apparently Trump removed the post. My predication: over the next 24 hours Trump's anger at himself for "giving in" will bubble up to such an intense degree that he'll be forced to retweet something 2x as bad tomorrow so that he can live with himself again.

I think one of the things Haridopolos "can control" is the words that exit his mouth, like "I think he should take that down". He's in control of those words exiting, or not exiting, his pie-hole.

Use the same story: close ICE under the story that it needs to be first "torn to the ground" and then "reconstructed" and "rebuilt". Give a timeline of some number of years.

They are public servants, they do not have a right to be anonymous. If they do not want to be known, then they need to go find work in the private sphere.

I didn't realize "resist" means "violence". I think Welker needs to be quicker on her feet or get another job.

For those in the Trump orbit, there are no principles, just interests.

If the protests are all paid, why do they care? It would just mean that the public is actually behind them. Instead, they need to convince everyone that it's paid, because they know that it's not paid, and that the public is not behind them.

TBH, Noem followed the Trump playbook. Be brutal, be heartless, accept responsibility for nothing, lie, gaslight, and so on. Which is 100% what Trump wants. But because the public didn't respond right to it, she has to grovel due to...doing what he wanted? In Trumpland, you can only lose.

Trump/Homan spin: this is due to the hard time that the citizenry around him were giving him. If the citizens were nicer, this wouldn't happen.

If it don't TWANG it ain't 'merican, says the dumbest person ever to be voted into the US Senate.

I'll bet this "investigation" into GA voter fraud will be run by the same people, and according to the thinking, that is behind the Alex Pretti "investigation."

Lutnick is right that Trump brought back the golden age - Gold has never been so expensive as it is during his administration. I wonder why.
They don't call him Nutlick for nothing.
January 29, 2026 at 10:17 PM
Of course he did. If you didn't vote for him and look like him, you're the enemy.

Jesus, not the tan suit. Anything but the tan suit.

You're not too far from there, Tom. You can pick up your $50 and there does not seem to be any restriction on treating the film in real time like a viewing of Rocky Horror Picture Show, as long as you remain seated. Sounds like a win-win.

Happy to see the net negatives on masks, but I must say I'm baffled why *anyone* would approve of an agent of the state - who represents and serves the people - being anonymous. It's a violation of the very idea of being a public servant.
