What I'd like to know is: if military commanders are obeying clearly in your face illegal orders, what's to stop them from obeying all the other illegal orders that are not as obvious?

The whole story seemed like an obvious "WTF?" - why any editor would run it, is beyond me. Literally no upside, lots of downside.

That Leavitt wouldn't care about the mother was clear from the story this morning, in which her brother said he was concerned *solely* with the child. It was a very intentional sentence - he completely iced (no pun intended) the mother out of his concern.

I don't get Rubio's calculation here. Is it that he can swallow all this BS because (a) he gets to push around South American countries he has long disliked, and/or (b) he wants to run for President and/or (c) has no actual principles?

That's all well and fine - Senior GOPs are going to retire, think the administration is awful, and so on. But they talk about it in anonymous emails and texts. They wouldn't want to put their future lobbying $$$ in jeopardy.

The glaring issue here is that Blitzer either doesn't know that or isn't willing to push back. In either case, what's the point of him asking the question?

Senior members believe all this but only talk about it in anonymous emails and texts, even though they will soon retire. Can't put future lobbying $$ in jeopardy.

So the idea here is let's collect 4k a year in tariff-taxes, and then promise to give those people 2k back and then talk about how awesome the system is. Since MAGAs are knowledge free, it might just work.

With respect to people in general (not anecdotes) how does "returning to consumerism" going to help health care prices when the health care market does not function like the rest of the market? As a consumer, I have (a) no time, total urgency, (b) no info, (c) and no idea what product I need.
