Probably worth pointing you to an article on what the EBU faces no matter what decision is made, which is best summed up by one of the subheadings. t.co/fTfxdTIsG9

Also worth pointing out that Germany is one of the big five that puts the most money into the contest, alongside Spain. Whose broadcaster had vowed to walk if Israel’s station stays in …

Probably worth pointing out at this stage that it would be for the Eurovision broadcaster to make that decision, not the government, and the broadcaster has made no such threat. But broadcasters will also take into account the mood of the country they’re in. www.euronews.com/culture/2025...
German chancellor threatens to boycott Eurovision if Israel excluded
Chancellor Friedrich Merz says that if Israel is excluded from Eurovision 2026, Germany will not take part.

An episode of Have I Got News for You was briefly removed from BBC iPlayer over the weekend after it contained a factual error about digital ID cards—a claim we'd already fact checked.

It’s a clear reminder of why fact checking matters.

In better news for Russell Martin, he's a shoo-in for something at the British Comedy Awards.

The sheer mismatch between Martin and the club is almost of sitcom proportions.

I once again appeal to Nottingham Forest to do the funniest possible thing and set up the greatest day in the history of Super Scoreboard.

To put into context how bad Russell Martin's time at Rangers has been, he's basically the Liz Truss of Scottish football at this stage.

Assuming that Russell Martin news wasn't just embargoed, quite a few newspaper editors no doubt internally screaming at the moment.

I think it probably depends where you are in the UK as to how essential local news is to you. If you're in the south-east and travelling into London then you may not be bothered, if you're in Scotland and your laws and education are passed by a completely different parliament it's somewhat key.

At this point we're almost getting into the territory of duty of care, such was the anger from the Rangers support towards him.

The second par of that sentence could have read, "While all transition periods require some time, for f***'s sake ..."

Not one of them said anything so brutal or unfair that he’d get a sympathy vote. Most of them talked around the performance and went on about his outfit, lack of nerves etc. Shirley gave him tips for the future. So many alarm bells that he was a goner. #Strictly

Also, beware the Scottish vote. #Strictly

My old X Factor skills are clearly now transferable to Strictly. Rule number one of reality shows: listen to what the judges say. #Strictly

Not saying it will happen, but the judges’ comments for Thomas Skinner’s dance felt very much like what the judges would say on The X Factor when you’re doomed. Damning with faint praise, talking about anything other than the dance, not evoking a sympathy vote or a fear he could be out. #Strictly

Haaaaa oh God yeah, bless them.

This feels deeply on-brand.

“We bloody hated those two dances.”
“Great, here they are again.”

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t watching and immediately started searching for the dance. I didn’t think you could get a 2 on Strictly without breaking someone’s leg or something.

Thomas SKinner gets a 2 from Craig. Amy new it was coming.

I do enjoy the quirk of reality shows, that the audience and judges vote to see the two performances they hate most again in a dance-off. #Strictly

Basically Ofcom, allow STV to merge its news shows and ITV will likely come to you and go “so about West/Westcountry…”
