Their out-of-office emails were changed to blame Democrats for the shutdown.

"One person reported changing the out-of-office message back to the nonpartisan version, only to have it revert to the partisan wording later."

They were forced to say something they do not believe.

It was basically stolen and became “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.” His daughters eventually sued, and were awarded 25% of all past and future royalties, which is a lot of money, especially since the song was licensed for The Lion King. Too late for Solomon though, who died impoverished in 1962.

I don't remember when I heard their song about the shameful episode in our history -- it was largely banned in the US when it was released in 1973. But it was a big hit in Europe. And it sent me searching for information.

By the way, I didn't learn about Wounded Knee in history class. I learned about it because I saw Redbone on the Midnight Special, was blown away, and sought out more of their music. This is what I saw when I was a kid. I am certain my mother didn't know I was awake and downstairs watching TV.

In tiny ways we've sought to at least recognize and label some historical sins, and the amoral men (and a few craven women) in command are seeing to it that it's all reversed. They misunderstand what they purport to be their faith.
