ensuring the animal suffers as little as possible (ie heart shot, kill as fast as you can), and respecting the sacrifice of the animal's life for your sustenance. I can't stand people posing with an animal they've killed. It's disrespectful.

Personally I'd say even more so, like, not to save on grocery bills but to avoid purchasing meat from factory farms and not knowing how abused your meal was. I've known people who choose to only eat meat they've hunted, and that is respectable as hell.
So long as you're hunting properly-

Yeah if we could avoid associating that kind of shit with *ACTUAL* harvest type hunting (seal hunts etc), where it is done a) for sustenance as it isn't exactly possible to grow crops in the arctic circle, and b) every last bit of the animal is used.
This is just losers trying to feel like big men.
