Too many free agent veterans on the roster means a bunch of L’s. Unless you’re the Texans, Patriots, Steelers, and Bears. Ravens and Chiefs are catching way too many L’s in 2025 but what else is new. Bucs and Colts quarterback situations betray their fit rosters.

Week 14 Player Origin Snaps Report (The POSR): Steelers, Texans, Patriots, and Bears lead winning teams with percentage of snaps to elsewhere picks. The Rams play the most undrafted scrubs but they’re the first seed. Harbaugh and Reid are super underperforming the talent pipeline is too good.

Week 13 Player Origin Snaps Report (The POSR): Ravens and Chiefs are 0.500 but have the best homegrown picks percentages at over 70%. Is it possible they are simply exhausted from playing until late January every season? Serious underperformance for the former contenders.

Colts send two R1 picks for all-pro corner. For most teams that would obliterate the talent pipeline. Picks too precious! But Colts currently ranked 8 w homegrown picks getting ~60% of snaps. They have been steadily building and (like Packers moving up during 2025 draft) can afford it.

Some evidence for Dolphins and GM Chris Grier split. Dolphins ranked 30 in snaps to homegrown picks, 4th highest in elsewhere picks, 5th highest in undrafted players. Roster is destitute.

Week 9 Player Origin Snaps Report (The POSR): The worst homegrown pick percentages are the Vikings, Bears, Dolphins, Titans, Commanders, Raiders. Each going nowhere in 2025.

I wrote about how the #Ravens roster is airtight and how the numbers would so eaily support Harbaugh's dismissal.

Week 8 Player Origin Snaps Report (The POSR): John Harbaugh and Eric DeCosta built a high functioning talent pipeline at the #Ravens. Their drafted players are currently getting 75% of the snaps. Easily the best in the NFL.

Guess it’s time to discuss the #Colts, with their predominantly white uniforms and Just For Men general manager. (Sidenote, can we trust a dude with chocolate lettuce? Aging men of the world: 50 is the new 30, you can appear less old simply by going to the gym and eating well.)

For #Steelers and #Benglas tonight here is a look at how both teams build. Steelers play a bunch of mercs; Mike Brown makes his stooge coach play the draft picks.

This is the entire point of tracking homegrown picks. All teams above 0.500 after four games get above 50% of snaps to draft and develop players. As the charts shows, not all teams with that homegrown pick percentage are above 0.500. There will be more stratification as the season progresses.

Week 4 Player Origin Snaps Report (The POSR): #Bills and #Eagles have homegrown rosters and are 4-0. #Ravens officially an outlier with homegrown roster but a bunch of L’s. #Steelers win a surprising number of games considering how many mercenaries.

Week 3 Player Origin Snaps Report (The POSR): #Ravens homegrown picks are literally getting 80% of the snap--they are underachieving. #Vikings homegrown picks are literally getting 35% percent of snaps, undrafted get 28%--they are overachieving.

Week 2 Player Origin Snaps Report (The POSR): The #Rams are truly unique as 27% of snaps go to undrafted players and they are a 2-0 contender. The #Vikings are 1-1 and 26% of snaps go to undrafted players, they are in trouble.

#Rams roster complexion is truly something to behold. This season is similar to 2024.

In 2024 50.6% of snaps went to draft and develop players, 25.4% to players drafted elsewhere, and 24.1% went to undrafted players. They went 10-7 and had the champs on the ropes in the snow in Philadelphia.
September 20, 2025 at 11:04 PM
The #Packers are an all-time draft and develop team. Its somewhat myopic adherence to this approach has only cost them all-time weapons for the top-tier quarterbacks they somehow repeatedly replace. Fewer titles, but the Packers roster is rarely in doubt.
September 11, 2025 at 7:34 PM
Week 1 Player Origin Snaps Report (The POSR): #Ravens, #Bucs, #Packers, #Chiefs, #Eagles homegrown picks get over 70% of snaps. What are the #Dolphins even doing anymore? Almost 25% of Dolphins snaps go to undrafted players.
