Doesn't sound like anything else either. That drumming! The rhythm guitar!

OK, this may be the first thing I've released this year, recorded last week, feeling fresh for Friday. 7 songs, 41 minutes, pay-whatever download and small run cottage industry CDR. x

Seriously the most unacknowledged and influential band of the 1980s. "Pay No More Than 49p" opened so many young minds. Shaved Women is a fucking PARTY BANGER too.

You can't REALLY strip 'everything' else away from this band as they're bigger than the music. But - if you were just left with the music this would still be a grade A, top tier, original and wild music making collective of people who put out some amazing records

As sceptical as I've become about Bandcamp Friday, I have a new thing to lay on you all tomorrow and let's just see how it goes.

Me too (although I never lost faith).

Disappointed I'll miss my favourite ever NZ band Surface of the Earth in London in November, but I've just sorted out a lone UK date for Paul Toohey's solo K-Group thing in Todmorden on 20/11. More details soon. surfaceoftheearth.bandcamp.com/album/surfac...

Innit. Good vibe in Nan Moors too.

Been massively enjoying reconnecting my ears to these 80s French drum machine bozos of late. Also made me dig out my old Metal Urbain and Dr Mix and the Remix records.

That said, Steve Lamacq on weekdays teatime isn't conducive at all.

Ah, it's still worth banging on in the kitchen when yr cooking.

Or at least renamed to Avuncular Regular Gentleman Zone.
astralsocialite.bsky.social
Is there a petition to get Stuart Maconie's so-called Freak Zone removed and replaced with something a bit freakier. Jeez.

For sure, makes total sense. But The Reptile House is a thing of wonder and great delight that I'm not sure any of us have got our heads fully around.

Ha! I like maybe half of the 1st Sisters LP, but it was all over by then for me. Marian is a banger, for sure.

Twenty Tens ep too. Proto-goth is totally my bag. Anything after 1983, forget it.

You checked out Heresie? Definitely their best record.

No slight on Hecker at all, just an observation on my own ageing process I guess.
astralsocialite.bsky.social
Yeah, I saw that, even listened to some of it. Highly amusing. Dunno, it's funny when your reaction to something that once felt totally WTF and exciting is just "yeah, nice, whatever".
astralsocialite.bsky.social
Might be time for me to check in Herr Hecker again, samples sound sweet. The blurb, as ever, is embarrassing bollocks.

Nor I. I think it's my favourite TEB record too. And def interested in whatever yr doing at Tod Lit, will keep my eyes peeled.

You'll be listening to Keith Chegwin before the weekend is out.
