Hello. I just want to talk about music. Playing it. Listening to it. Watching it. Buying records. Venues. Shops. And I may moan occasionally about football

AAA Gripper these three (Derby, Shipley, Manchester) and Newcastle (don't think there's a poster yet.....also with Unit Ama though)

December 4-7th - four dates in a row. That's an official tour for a band full of working folk. Can't wait

Couple more tickets returned. The last few went immediately. Maybe there's a waiting list. Dunno how this works. If you've not spent a weekend in the actual town of Glastonbury and hung out in this venue youre missing out on a very weird / excellent experience

If it's possible to strip away everything around them (that in itself is exciting and excellent) and just focus on the music it's still an absolute gold mine of a band. Hit after hit.

Seriously the most unacknowledged and influential band of the 1980s. "Pay No More Than 49p" opened so many young minds. Shaved Women is a fucking PARTY BANGER too.
xeaglepissx.bsky.social
You can't REALLY strip 'everything' else away from this band as they're bigger than the music. But - if you were just left with the music this would still be a grade A, top tier, original and wild music making collective of people who put out some amazing records
xeaglepissx.bsky.social
As an aside....may have a spare ticket for the WSR weekend. Fancy it?
xeaglepissx.bsky.social
Preorder from tomorrow, Wrong Speed Bandcamp. Out on November 14th. Band touring at the end of Nov. Cheers to @gidcoe.bsky.social for the play. Legendary business.

'I hear bands from Mogwai to Hawkwind, from American Analog Set to Man or Astroman. The vocal treatment is perfect: the slightly haunted vocoder hinting at the industrialists calling down at the workers'

Saw Palooka 5. Bought the album. Got inspired to review for @thequietus.com - @spinoutnuggets.bsky.social have released the record. If you dig the idea of a wild+futuristic sci-fi take on surf-garage rock, a new soundtrack to Metropolis, check words, check sounds:

There's only one cool religion when it comes to rock. I would imagine there's an excellent discussion to be had about god and music but man alive, whoever does it is going to be tiptoeing around certain subjects. Good luck!
xeaglepissx.bsky.social
Nick Parker is his name. He's a totally lovely fella. He's a doer and is cracking on in his own world in music. I'm all for that sort of business.
xeaglepissx.bsky.social
And I've mentioned this to others but occasionally I deliver the post to the Bath + West showground when the big Christian weeks happen. Rock bands playing at 9am to a few thousand people. Bands like Delirious. It's like stepping into the upside down world, a world that's so very different
xeaglepissx.bsky.social
Why? are from Street, Somerset. The main fella is a nice chap and still tours solo (with bands like the Levellers). Doesn't seem to be overly religious now, but that's how they get you I guess. We chat music stuff in the dairy aisle, Tesco.

Last night's Wrong Speed Radio show. Kling Klang related artwork from @sumlin.bsky.social - preorder their album on Friday. Is this Muslimgauze track super relevant now? Are Instrumental bands with political song titles REALLY political? - #ActionsNotWords

Was a beautiful day today. Day in Bristol eating and looking at the now gentrified docks. Now though, a quiet moment with some cups of tea, a book, some records, and the sky. Huggy Bear have been musically underrated forever, that's my scalding take
