To me, the biggest factor for both is energy used WHILE playing, not how you got the game.
If we streamed games constantly via cloud gaming, that would probably tip digital’s footprint higher than physical.

And instead they put Xbox GamePass on every Smart TV, phone, handheld and tablet, basically anything with a screen!
It's a brilliant business move, but it doesn’t generate the same excitement as a physical console or an exclusive game that people will wait up til midnight to play.

May not be their intention but they'll STILL potentially brick your Switch 2 for using a dock or accessory that's NOT officially licensed with "The Nintendo Seal Of Quality 👍⭐🍄⭐👍".
