Starlink satellites are leaking radio signals that may ruin astronomy
Our ability to study faint radio signals from when the first stars began to form is being threatened by SpaceX's Starlink satellites, which seem to be unintentionally leaking radio signals that overpo...

Same nebula, different wavelengths.

NGC 1514, the Crystal Ball Nebula, in visible light from Kitt Peak, and in mid-infrared light from JWST.

The glowing dust rings seen in the infrared are absent in the visible light view. 🔭🧪

😮☄️Surprise with #comet #SWAN25F imaged this morning.
The tail extends beyond the frame with over 1 degree in length, showing multiple jets, bends, and disconnections.
It has brightened to magnitude 8.3, making it observable with binoculars.

The pic on the left is from DESI, the right from their survey; notice how there are no horizontal/vertical mosaicing artifacts.

4. And finally, P. Jofré et al. used concepts from biology & genetics to study the different populations of stars in the Omega Cen #galactic star cluster (so cool!!!) 🧪

Their work adds more evidence that Omega Cen is the leftover core of another galaxy.
