Ok, here me out... Eternal Sunshine is actually a metaphor for trans people coming to terms with their pre-transition existence, first trying to erase it, then trying to learn to embrace it while also saying goodbye.

What I see far too much of is people who argue "I am bothered by this, therefore I want to make sure it doesn't exist." And that doesn't help anyone, it just destroys art. It destroys therapy. Anybody should be able to simply walk away and disengage. But instead the urge in society is to destroy.

That last line is the most important. Because everyone brings their own experiences and needs to art, and that means that what is triggering to some may literally be therapy to others, we all process our experiences differently. The key is recognizing that and giving people the agency to not engage.

Truly thanks! Even today, there are shitty moments and tragic fucking messes in my godawful life that Ani's music helps me get through, and I will never be anything less than grateful.

I didn't have a car, so I only got to go when one of my more cool friends would take me up there. She's the one who told me to listen to Ani, and once I did, I was hooked. This album was the second one I bought, and it quickly became my favorite. I found a copy here in Japan, which is neat to own.

It does, but I worry with this new PM, like... things could get real bad real fast if she manages to get any of her agenda through before her coalition collapses.

I mean I don't wanna be in like, Alberta or something, but I could see myself doing ok in Canada if I could ever get there. But I like Japan, and I hope I'll be able to stay.

I get the feeling the cardinal sin among white male leftists is to call them out when they make mistakes and fall prey to predatory rhetoric, and rather than be introspective about their hurt feelings, they prefer to just solidify their mistake by pushing the blame onto non cis-male people.
