Awe is one of our values because of the sense of connection and awareness it promotes.

Effective altruism combines both the heart and the head. The heart motivates us to help. The head makes sure what we do is effective and well directed.

It’s not enough to mean well - we should aim to do the most good we can with the resources we have.

From today's service about odd friendships:
"A 'Frenemy' is an abuser in friend clothing"
"Predictability is important in friendship, knowing how they'll react in a given situation feels safer"
"Remaining open to positive possibilities creates luck, that can apply to new friendships as well"

From Sunday's discussion: when thinking about the treatment for a diagnosis, the happiness of the individual is critical, if the treatment changes behavior to be more acceptable to others but the person isn't happier then it's probably not the right treatment

My husband has taught human reproduction and development to the Cambridge medics for over three decades. When people start banging on about "only two biological sexes" he starts with "which sex: genetic, hormonal, or gonadal"?

Taking people who are legally here seeking refuge and deporting them to a foreign country's prisons is cruel and despicable. The casual disregard this administration has for the value of human life should concern anyone with a conscience.

AI generated content is like junk food. We have a long biological history of craving sweet and calorie-rich foods because they were hard to get. Now we have it in excess and aren't well equipped to understand when and how it's harming us.

You’ll be told you filed the wrong paperwork. You violated a policy. That things have to be complicated because other people abuse the system.
