CURRENT PROJECTS:
👱💀 Neverland's End (cyberpunk). An ex-popstar reconnects with her inhuman friend as the digital world falls down.

🎭 🏹 Masks and Arrows (fantasy). Agnes, a student mage, must dive into the underworld of her fascist home to rescue Ilse, a disappeared target of antisemitic violence.

you have to beat silent hill f three times for the real ending and I love that but I absolutely understand people who don't.

that being said. it is an incredibly effective ending.
mbhare.bsky.social
I can believe it. Sadly.
mbhare.bsky.social
he just kinda does well for himself. he just lives there now. doesn't bother him as much as you'd think.

has anyone ever put Dale Cooper's ass in Silent Hill? how do you think he'd deal with it? or is that just the entirety of The Return.

there is a bizarre faction of the Silent Hill fandom that seems to want everything to be canon. despite their favorite game in the series inevitably being Silent Hill 2. the game that is completely a character study with Silent Hill as an excuse for it.

what's up with that (ok I already know)

yeah I love that also it's canon on a level there's White Claudia and PTV all over the place. mm mm good, that's my stuff. however! the ways in which this echoes Silent Hill 2 by being an INTENSELY personal character study have been under-discussed!!!!!!!
mbhare.bsky.social
even your childish alter ego, the woman who submits, is a badass masked tormented chuuni fox furry girl who is Extremely Cool While Doing It.
mbhare.bsky.social
your own private world collides with the collective fantasy of society itself, equally its own theater of grand lights and well-maintained majesty. You take the laser sword from Space Wars and cut these monsters intruding on your fantasy apart.
mbhare.bsky.social
the way silent hill f deals with rituals and customs and the way they are used to enforce societal norms, the way you reproduce those rituals through gameplay to proceed. it is the only way to get through, isn't it?

so you counter those games with childish games. Space Wars. Your OC, Fox You.

“I got into blues in my late teens. I knew about Robert Johnson from the bands that covered him. And when I heard him, I thought it was OK. Then I heard Son House’s a cappella song “Grinning in Your Face” [from the 1965 Columbia album Father of Folk Blues]. That was a transformative moment. There’s nothing there, just that voice. And what he was singing made so much sense to me.”

the politics of the film are unclear in that way--I think the film is, if anything, centrist. any movement that wants radical change is suspect, a cover for Sinister Forces (that happen to come vaguely from the East).
