My beloved and I been having a rough go about the whole American project for a minute now, but we got a chicken 65 quesadilla from the Tikka Taco jawn on Preston where a Punjabi crew bought out the white boi burrito joint and we felt like patriots for about the length of said flatbreads

Lots of things happened last night but shout out to freezer martinis and fried chicken

Does it add flavor? Nope. But it feels lavish.

Caffè doing just fine as long as I don’t breathe too hard or often

Hydrangeas, marigolds, cone flowers, borage. All just steps from our house, though my arranging needs work

Grew those cone flowers, too, but it’s better described as “didn’t get in their way”

Yesterday I picked some of those flowers I mentioned because @ennuigo.bsky.social was redoing the florals for the week

It’s a dark art and I don’t pretend to understand it. I will start after the new year tho, I got a bench set up and everything

On impulse I plunked down a bunch of gladiolus around the place, this pot was the three I was sure wouldn’t make it. We respect a plant what will not die.

Foxglove loved the front yard: about half of these are volunteers from the initial two. Once we have a trouble of foxglove (foxdie? SNAAAAAAAKE) I'll probably try cutting some

@ennuigo.bsky.social planted this hollyhock last year and it was a challenge to keep it alive— something was snacking on its leaves pretty aggressively, just getting it to flower was an accomplishment

there's a reason starts are expensive: these...forget me nots? (oh, the irony) were started in probably April with the idea of planting them by Derby.

it is mid-June. There's a reason nobody is particularly precious about seedlings. 🌱

an amaryllis that's flowered once next to tomato seedlings a neighbor grew and some strawberries in pots that yield pretty infrequently but man, that's a vibe
June 12, 2025 at 1:20 PM
growing annuals and cut flowers as well, here's some what's the story (morning glories) training up
June 12, 2025 at 1:18 PM
a plot of edamame that won't shut up about preferring pet sounds in mono (and a single pea shoot in the back what won't stop singing that Barenaked Ladies song, RIP brian wilson)
June 12, 2025 at 1:17 PM
our first blackberry which I check every morning in anticipation of hand feeding it to @ennuigo.bsky.social
June 12, 2025 at 1:06 PM
Lenny the beefsteak tomato plant, who is in tomato jail because he wouldn't stop getting spider mites
June 12, 2025 at 1:06 PM
One (1) hipster's worth of kale
June 12, 2025 at 1:05 PM
Companion plants kicking it in the dirt (tomatoes, marigold, basil, some kind of volunteer squash)
June 12, 2025 at 1:04 PM
