Maximum respect to all my friends out on the various distance Spine Races at the moment! Yesterday was cold and crispy, but today looks grim.

Made some more progress on the bolt pistol. Ready for priming and final sanding, then it’s painting time.

I love a good melancholy song, and the Stranger Things finale reminded me of the existence of When it’s cold I’d like to die.

Had a pretty chill week, but it’s time to start seriously looking for work again! Anyone need an experienced #umbraco freelancer? 😃 next week is time to start pounding the digital streets, going to have more of a play with 17 as well, now it’s LTS.

PSA, if, like me, you have a sizeable pile of war dolly paints, especially if they’re Citadel ones, don’t forget to periodically clean the lids out and make sure they all close properly, to maximise the life of your expensive paints. That was a fun, if mucky, couple of hours!

One for my Bristol IT nerd pals!
If you're in the UK and have Facebook, a woman is giving away her late father's PDP-8/L based in Bristol. Schematics included.

2025 was mostly stressful, shit, and filled with shiny new health woes. There were a few bright spots, including hitting my goal of running 100 miles before I hit 50, but by and large this year can get in the fucking sea.

Next print! I’m now about 80% of the way through printing a 40K bolt pistol! Being able to print full sized props is awesome.

Done! Just under 20 hours of printing and I have enough crates to store all my regularly used paints! Much better than the shoe boxes I was using previously! Just need to sort the paints now by colour to make them easier to find!

OK, possibly the best use for the printer so far is printing custom storage for all my stuff. Printed off a crate for storing my paints (which currently live in shoe boxes). Immediately fired off another of these, and need to do a couple more to hold all my regularly used paints!

Doing our annual festive Trading Places watch through, and we’ve decided they should do a Muppets version. Waldorf and Stadtler as the Dukes, Miss Piggy as Ophelia, Kermit as Winthorpe. Who would be the human?

Well, today marks 19 years since I finished chemo. Time flies and all that. Feels weird this year, especially with my current health issues. Next year, I’ll have made 20 years, which is pretty good going for someone who was diagnosed with Stage IVb cancer. I’m very lucky to still be here.

Had some of my daughter’s friends and their families over last night, the kids were fascinated by the 3D printer, they asked to see it in action, so I printed them off some quick fidget toys, and they were hypnotised! 😃 to be fair, so were some of the parents!

Been quiet of late because I was diagnosed with high blood a couple of weeks ago. No obvious cause, could be hereditary, now on meds which seem to have it at least partially under control. Loved it when they asked if I was active, my reply was “I ran for 11 hours at the weekend” 😂
