My first published story was about sexual assault. I got publicly excoriated for it by several established SFF writers, who said the topic should never be written about. But I also got a couple of fan letters from men saying, "Thank you for the story. Now I understand why rape is bad."

I hate seeing people emphasising how much they love an author's work while trying to process the fact that he's a horrifying abuser. I just feel like that should be an inside thought right now. I get it, people are figuring out their feelings, but I also hate it lol.

The reductive mean girl/girls girl discourse lends itself to confirming internalized misogyny biases and false equivalences between publicly imperfect women and their vindictive abusers we have seen this before we are seeing this again someone take away the microphones

A lot of the more negative reviews of Madeleine Miller's 'Circe' feel like they're drawn more from readers' preconceived notions of what the novel was 'marketed' as or what they were expecting it to be from its rave reviews tbh.

Played Morrowind for the first time in 2020! That was definitely MY GOTY.
Finally playing Case of The Golden Idol and honestly, forget GOTY/Game Awards conversations, go play an old game you might've missed. Don't let a calendar year keep you from finding an all time fave.
