1870 – Bradford Knapp is born.

Knapp would serve as the eighth president of the Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University) from 1928 until 1933.

He would go on to be president of Texas Tech from 1933 until his death in 1938.

1958 - #13 Auburn defeats Alabama 79-60 to claim the Birmingham Classic championship. This game marked Auburn's 16th straight victory.

Rex Frederick scored 20 points. Three other Auburn Tigers scored double-digits.

1982 - Pat Dye's first bowl game pitted Auburn versus Doug Flutie's Boston College Eagles.

Auburn's eight year bowl drought ended as the Tigers defeated BC 33-26, following a BC touchdown as time expired to make the score closer.
