How about we do an empathy test for billionaires? If they fail to show any shred of decency or humanity they get stripped of all their assets. Might deter others

Perfect writing and made me long for Alice & Gertrude, my first cats, and Mika, my last. So lucky to have known them

TBH I would very much like to hear the world news delivered in verse

It's no coincidence that Trump hosts MBS and now he's calling for the execution of anyone who disagrees with him
November 20, 2025 at 7:04 PM
He can only remember the last conversation he had. He's just had MBS to stay, so of course he's talking about killing people he disagrees with.

Makes one wonder about the circles they move in and who influences them

I'd love to know what happened to Alison Pearson. Back in the 90's she seemed ok. Arts progs, critical reviews, wrote for Guardian/Observer iirc, then almost overnight she became a rabid right-winger. Did she have a bump on the head? Stroke? Illness? What happened?

Imagine being the richest person on Earth, with the capacity to enable positive change for everybody else (research, food-aid, medicines, education) and deciding to be a complete arsehole instead

Anybody with even the slightest grounding in reality could see that these plans were bonkers. Why can't these rich people do things that would actually benefit people, rather than plot fever dream projects that resemble something they saw in an episode of Foundation?

It's to help Trump remember where he is

Why do people keep thinking that rich people are intelligent? Most pronouncements we hear from these billionaire TechBros simply signal that they're as dumb as rocks

Who, exactly, was THAT desperate to ' get out of Europe'? All driven by the guy who was a politician in Europe, with a European passport, a home in Europe, who realised what a grift it would be, and was directed by the Russians. That 'we'?

One of the few records in my life that I can remember where I was when I first heard it - Driving 'round Milton Keynes, with a mate, looking for a Argos store, as it happens. Listening to R1 and its first UK play. Enlivened the tedium quite a bit!

Exactly. With no safety net, people obsess about making money so they can afford healthcare, pensions etc. They lose sight of decent values in selfish pursuits of monetary gains.

The 3-dimensionality in that scene. The balloon is breaking out of the canvas, or, in this case, the screen

I bet that chocolate is really bitter

Jenrick? Is there nobody with any intelligence in the Tory party?

Exactly. Disruption in Denmark today by drones over airports. USA no longer seen as a credible deterrent. All respect has been lost on the world stage.

I would pay good money to watch a sci-fi film where the designs were based on 50's space concepts. And the science was based on what we imagined the future would be like in the 50's.

To help him cope with his dementia, they've made the Rose Garden look like Mar-a-Lago. He needs familiarity around him. Hence the rest of the WH looking so tacky now. It's what he's used to back home
